"Invincible Summer"

Inspired by a quote I came across, from Albert Camus

In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer

I painted this one afternoon under a scorching Analusian sun, from dead pommegranate flowers , found underfoot whilst walking in the gardens of the Moorish castle, high above the city of Malaga. I enjoy the coincidence that the pommegranate is also the symbol for the Andalusian city and ancient Moorish stronghold of Grenada. My trip came in the midst of a period of creative renewal.
