"An Avowal"

"An Avowal" is a watercolour and mixed-media painting inspired by a poem of the same name by Kathleen Jamie, in her collection, "The Overhaul" (Picador, 2013). The paper has been embossed with the form of a book - with its spine exposed - into which words form the poem have been embedded sand figments of collage incorporated. The painting was first exhibited at my exhibition, "Such frail enclaves: things remembered, made things, things unmade...", held Thompson's Tower in the garden, in September 2017. Size: 297 x 420 mm.
